My New Beauty Favorites

Hey guys!

Recently I’ve been getting back into researching and learning about new beauty products and I’ve got some favorites to share with you! Some of these products are not new to the market, but they are new to me! Also, most of these are decently affordable!

ACS_0119

Product #1: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light $50.00

ACS_0121ACS_0120ACS_0128

This bronzer is expensive, but worth it! It is pigmented, with a finish similar to the Ambient Lighting Powders from Hourglass. They give a radiant, candle-lit finish to the skin. Also, this formula is so light and airy that it is perfect for all skin types and maturities.

Product #2: Smashbox Spotlight Palette in Pearl $35.00

ACS_0123ACS_0122ACS_0127

These highlighters are perfect for an every day routine as they add a nice sheen to the skin, but they aren’t a blinding, metallic finish upon the first application. They can be built up to be blinding and metallic! This palette was also in collaboration with one of my favorite Youtubers, Casey Holmes! They don’t emphasize texture on the skin and they last all day!

Product #3: FLOWER Beauty Flower Pots Blush in Sweet Pea $9.99

ACS_0125ACS_0124ACS_0126

This is a perfect blush as it is pigmented and lasts all day. Also, this particular shade goes with almost any look!

Product #4: FLOWER Beauty Shimmer and Strobe Highlighting Palette $15.99

ACS_0131ACS_0129ACS_0130ACS_0132ACS_0136

These highlighters have become my go to over the past few weeks. I use the champagne shade the most often, and the golden shade next. These highlighters are so smooth and buttery and go on the skin beautifully. They are metallic and blinding upon the first layer of application, and they stay in place all day!

Product #5: Fresh Sugar Lip Caramel Hydrating Balm $18.00

ACS_0133ACS_0135ACS_0134

I know that you’re probably thinking that I’m crazy for recommending an $18 lip balm. But if you know me, you know that I’ve had a lip balm attached to me at all times since the 6th grade! This is the BEST lip balm I have ever used. It is so thick and hydrating for my lips. I typically use this product at night since it is such a thick formula. Another bonus is that this lip balm smells and tastes just like caramel!

Product #6: Stila Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadows $24.00

ACS_0137ACS_0138

These liquid eyeshadows took the beauty community by storm when they were released. However, I just got to try them recently and they do live up to all of their hype. These are literally liquid glitter and apply beautifully to the eye. Another awesome thing about these is that they dry down pretty quickly, but this gives you time to blend out the edges! I have swatched the colors that I have: (Left to Right) Rose Gold Retro, Kitten Karma, and Smoldering Satin.

Product #7: LA Girl Pro Matte Foundation $8.99

ACS_0139

This foundation is a great option for anyone with oily skin. This has a matte finish, has medium to full coverage, and lasts all day! I definitely recommend it!

ACS_0113

I hope that you all have enjoyed this post, and I hope that you will go out and try some of these products for yourself. In my opinion, there is nothing better than getting a new blush or highlighter!

What’s On and In My Desk

Happy Saturday friends!

I hope that you all are having a fabulous weekend so far, and that you’re ready to do some more organization with me!

A few weeks ago I shared with you all how I keep my life as a whole organized using my planner and my blog calendar here on WordPress. This week, I wanted to focus on my desk/vanity.

As you all know if you’ve seen my post Welcome to Apt. 3315, I created a desk and vanity combo that I use every single day.

ACS_0108.JPG

My vanity, chair (no longer available), and mirror are all from Target!

Since I use this space all the time, I felt that it was very important to give every piece it’s own space within the desk.

I have essentially split the storage in this writing desk in half. One side is for makeup and beauty products, and the other side is for my office supplies.

ACS_0101

I try to keep the top of my desk as clutter free as possible! I don’t know about you all, but clutter makes me anxious and it doesn’t promote a stress free life for me. I need for things to be organized in order to think clearly, and that’s exactly what I have tried to accomplish in this desk.

I keep my pencil/makeup brush holder on the left side of this desk with my other makeup products such as lipsticks, foundations, and eyeliner. Other than the lipsticks, I use all of these products on a daily basis. This makes it super easy and speeds up the process of getting ready in the morning!

ACS_0107

The left side of my desk is very simple. Here we only have a lamp, my favorite candle, and one of my Peperomia! I like having this side of the desk nearly empty. As this isn’t a huge tabletop, I felt that it was necessary to keep this section as minimal as possible!

ACS_0100

In the beauty drawer of my vanity I keep all of my face products, except for my foundations, my eyeshadow palettes, and some samples that I recently received from ULTA and Sephora. I also keep some backups of my favorite products such as my mascara, setting spray, and foundation.

ACS_0105ACS_0106ACS_0103ACS_0098

On the office side of my desk I keep my stapler, a spare calculator, a flash drive, and various other office supplies. I also keep my dry shampoo, hair clips, and deodorant in this drawer because as you can see, my beauty drawer is nearly full!

ACS_0102ACS_0104

I usually sit at this vanity to get ready in the morning, and then again to do any homework I have, or to write any of my blog posts!

Since I have made this space organized and clutter-free, I am able to focus in this area and be productive. As a college student it seems that my workload never actually gets any lighter. Because of this, I felt that it was necessary to create a space that felt like home, but that still inspired me to keep going and get the job done on a daily basis.

ACS_0109ACS_0110

Having specific spaces for everything in my home, including my desk/vanity, has helped to keep my stress at a pretty low level throughout this school year. Even when it seems like I have a million things to do, it’s super helpful to know that I have my own area where my success is the focus.

ACS_0112

I hope that you all enjoyed seeing what was on and inside of my desk!

I also encourage you to get organized during all of your spring cleaning endeavors! I truly believe that organization is one of the keys to becoming the best you, and I hope that you take on that challenge.

Things I’m Loving Right Now

Happy Saturday friends!

Today we’re taking a short break from all of the interior design and DIY projects so that I can share some of my new favorites with you! All of these favorites are beauty, lifestyle, or fashion related and they are items that I truly have not been able to stop using. I believe in these products with my heart and soul, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

  1. YSL Volupté Tint in Balm in 01 and 06 $34.00

I purchased these lip products at the beginning of the year, and I have not been able to stop using them. Not only are they insanely moisturizing on the lips, but they add the perfect amount of color for my every day makeup look. The formula is glossy with sheer to medium coverage, and they also fade to a lovely stain on the lips.

2. Oversized Roll Neck Sweater from Zara $45.00 (No longer available)

I will never be able to say enough good things about these sweaters. I am so sad that they are no longer available on Zara’s website, but I’m hoping that they’ll bring them back, with new colors next winter. They are so warm and cozy, while also being perfectly oversized, and still flattering. As you can see, I have this sweater in four colors, and I have found myself doing laundry every four days so that I can start this sweater cycle over again!

3. Califia Farms Mocha Cold Brew Coffee with Almond Milk $4.50IMG_3791

I discovered this coffee because of  one of my favorite Youtubers, and I am so glad that I decided to try it! It tastes just like a chocolate milkshake, and gives me a much needed boost during the afternoons!

4. Amazing Grace Ballet Rose Perfume by Philosophy $49.00

Screen Shot 2018-02-16 at 6.26.15 PM

I only have a sample of this perfume, so this photo is of the full size on ULTA’s website. This is a perfect, and relatively inexpensive perfume for all seasons of the year. The notes are: Sparkling lychee, Delicate rose and peony, and Woods and sheer ballet pink musk.

These next few favorites are going to be for my fellow plant/garden lovers. As you all probably know, my houseplant obsession has grown exponentially over the past couple of months. These are some of my favorite things that help me with my indoor gardening!

5. Quick Kill Mosquito Bits $9.89

IMG_3792

I had been having some fungus gnat problems in my large succulent planter. It seemed like every day there was more and more of them. I heard about these and ordered them on Amazon immediately. Since I have used these, I haven’t seen a single gnat in my apartment, or anywhere near the planter! They are magical.

6.The Unexpected Houseplant and Succulents: The Ultimate Guide to Choosing, Designing, and Growing 200 Easy Care Plants

IMG_3795IMG_3794IMG_3793

These books have been major lifesavers for me as my plant collection has grown. “The Unexpected Houseplant” covers over 200 plants, and gives directions on water, light, soil, and any other unique traits that each plant might have. “Succulents” has been the most beneficial to me because it helped me to identify almost all of my succulents that I have purchased!

7. Blue and White Patterned Vase $6.99

IMG_3733

This vase is absolutely beautiful! I found this gem for $6.99 at TJ Maxx and I think these Valentine’s Day roses are perfect in it. Once the roses start to fade, I’m going to use this vase as a planter for my Watermelon Peperomia, Pepperoni!

I hope that you all have enjoyed this post about some new favorites of mine! Be sure to check out everything that I have linked above! I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!

2017 Best of Lifestyle

Hello everyone!

Today is post number three of my four days of 2017 favorites. This post is going to be focused on my lifestyle must haves of 2017! In this post I’ll share my favorites from skincare to recipes. We’re covering a lot in this post and I hope that you enjoy!

Skincare:

Boscia Detoxifying Black Charcoal Cleanser $30.00

Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel $52.00

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb $38.00

skincare

Over the summer I decided that I needed to revamp my skincare routine. Throughout the summer I did research online, I watched Youtube videos, and I tried my hardest to find products that would work with my oily, acne prone skin type. These are only 3 of 8 products in my new routine, but I think that they are the three products that have made the biggest difference in my skin.

This Boscia cleanser is my nighttime cleanser. It is wonderful at removing all of the dirt and makeup from my skin after a long day. I think this cleanser has single-handedly helped to stop my breakouts.

During my research I discovered just how important moisturizing is. Even though I do have oily skin, it is still extremely important to moisturize in order to keep your skin balanced. The Belif Aqua Bomb is my nighttime moisturizer. it’s heavier than other moisturizers that I’ve used, but it is water based so it keeps my skin moisturized without making it more oily. The Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Gel is my daytime moisturizer. I use this right before I put on my makeup. Since it is a gel, it soaks into the skin quickly, and helps to prime my skin for makeup.

Ginger and Cardamom Body Cream $15.50

lotion

While my face is oily, the rest of my body is extremely dry. I also have patches of Eczema on my legs and arms. The Bath and Body Works Body Cream formulas have helped to balance out my skin. I bathe at night, and I will lather my entire body with this stuff afterwards. I discovered a lot of new scents this year, but this one was by far my favorite! The notes are: white ginger, sparkling cardamom, and sweet lemon blossom.

L’oreal Detox and Brighten Clay Mask $12.99

mask

This face mask is magical! It is a clay mask, so it is perfect for drawing impurities out of the skin. I try to use this once every couple of weeks, or more often if my skin is looking or feeling congested or dull. This is my second jar of this face mask, and I need to repurchase a third!

Hair Care:

-Batiste Dry Shampoo $7.99

dry shampoo

I feel like everyone knows about Batiste dry shampoo, and I am here to tell you that it is worth all of the hype. This is the best dry shampoo I have ever used. Since I only wash my hair once a week, this dry shampoo is my saving grace. I usually apply it at night, so it has the chance to really soak up the excess oils while I’m sleeping.

Organization:

Lilly Pulitzer Planner $32.00

planner 2planner 1

I am a Type A personality and I love to be organized/feel like I have my life together. This is the third Lilly Pulitzer planner I’ve owned (one for every year of college) and I still love it. This planner has everything you need including note pages, an address books, and fun things like stickers. It also has yearly, monthly, and weekly calendars. Above I have posted my weekly schedule for this past week. As you can see, this first full week back at school was a crazy one, but this planner is the reason that I get everything done. I look at it at least once a day, if not more, and I truly would be lost without it.

Miscellaneous:

Bath and Body Works Candle in Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla

candle

I am constantly burning candles. My favorite home/candle scents are typically sold around the holidays. I love warm, cozy, and spicy scents. This is probably my favorite scent that Bath and Body has ever come out with. The notes are: fresh ground cinnamon, sugar crystals, and Tahitian vanilla bean.

Recipes:

Here are some of my favorite recipes of 2017! They are all linked below, and can also be found on my Pinterest!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Bars

Cheesy Taco Pasta

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I hope that you all have enjoyed my 2017 Lifestyle Favorites! Tomorrow’s post is my favorite, and I hope that you’ll come back to see my 2017 Interior Design/Decor moments!

2017 Best of Beauty

Hello everyone!

This weekend is going to be a very busy one for the blog. Even though we have almost made it through the month of January, I have decided to post FOUR days in a row starting today. These posts will contain my 2017 favorites in the categories of beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and design/decor.

I am beyond excited to share these favorites with you, and I think it will be super cool to look back on these posts and see how my personal style and daily routines change throughout the years.

This first post is going to be all things makeup and beauty related. I spend most of my time watching Youtube videos on beauty products, and most of my money goes to makeup as well. Over the past year my collection more than doubled in size, and this post will highlight my favorite products that I discovered in 2017!

flat lay

Foundation: Wet N Wild PhotoFocus Foundation $5.99

foundation

This foundation stole the show for me this year. I have never been one to splurge on a high end foundation, but 2017 was definitely the year that the drugstore stepped up their game when it came to face products. This foundation is a medium to full coverage foundation with a natural finish. The coverage is perfect for my almost every day routine of being on campus.

Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape $27.00

concealer

This concealer has been a part of every beauty blogger’s 2017 favorites that I’ve seen! It is lightweight, full coverage, brightening, and just the perfect concealer. It is an ULTA exclusive, so you can shop the shade range either at Tarte’s website or at ULTA.

Setting Powder: RCMA No Color Powder $12.00

powder

There isn’t much to say about setting powders, but this one from RCMA is great! It is the perfect powder for baking, and since I have oily skin I bake my makeup almost every day. Even though it is a white powder it doesn’t leave a white cast on the skin, and I have heard from influencers on social media that this powder is also great for dry skin!

Eyeshadow: Tarte Tartelette In Bloom $46.00

As you can see, this palette has been very well loved by me over the past year. This was a birthday present and I have used it almost every single day since I got it. Tarte eyeshadows are extremely soft and blendable, while also being very pigmented.

Eyeliner: NYX Epic Ink Liner in Black $7.99

eyeliner

If you have known me since before 8th grade you can probably remember how my eyes looked before I wore a cat eye every single day. I have used many different liquid eyeliners, but this one is by far by favorite. This pen is a brush tip, so the bristles bend very easily with the shape of your eye. Also, it is a very black, very matte line. The liquid takes a couple of seconds to dry, but it does not smudge or bleed at all on my eyes.

Mascara: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara in Black $24.00

mascara

I have been using this mascara for longer than a year, and I’m not sure that I will ever use another mascara. The thin, rubber wand is perfect for separating and lengthening my eyelashes. Also, something really cool about the formula is that this mascara is infused with provitamin B5 and serine, both of which are known for their lash conditioning qualities. I have noticed that my eyelashes are longer, and thicker since I’ve been using this mascara!

Bronzer: Wet N Wild ColorIcon Bronzer in “Ticket to Brazil” $3.99

Bronzer

I switched between two bronzers throughout 2017, but this one came out as my ultimate favorite. There are three shades that this bronzer comes in, and this is the medium shade. Although it is fairly light for a medium shade, this bronzer is the perfect shade for me. My skin tone is on the end of the spectrum closest to Casper the Friendly Ghost, and it is always a struggle for me to find a bronzer shade that has a neutral to cool enough undertone to work on my skin.

Blush: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in “Exposed” $29.00

Essence Satin Touch Blush in “20 Satin Love” $2.99

These are the two blushes that I have been using throughout the entire year of 2017. One is high end, and the other is incredibly affordable. The Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes are some of the best on the market. They are just pigmented enough to not be overwhelming on the face, while also being blendable and long-wearing. The Essence blush was a new find for me during 2017 and it has quickly become my day to day blush. This blush is also pigmented, but not too pigmented, and blends beautifully on the skin. The colors and undertones of these specific shades are perfect for nearly any look, making them a great addition to any collection.

Highlighter: Essence Pure Nude Highlighter $4.49

Ofra Rodeo Drive Highlighter $29.00

I had never used highlighter until 2017, but I have definitely added plenty to my collection over the past year. Once again, one of these favorites is high end, while the other is extremely affordable. The Ofra Rodea Drive highlighter is a blinding gold highlight that I use for more special occasions. The Pure Nude Highlighter is much more subtle, and is the one that I use when I’m going to be on campus, or at home all day. This highlight is more of a champagne nude color. Both of these highlighters also stay on the face all day long.

Lip Liner: Essence Lip Liner in “11 In The Nude” $1.99

Lip Stick: MAC Satin Finish in “Faux” $17.00

Liquid Lipstick: Sephora Cream Lip Stain in “05 Infinite Rose” $14.00

Wet N Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick in “Rebel Rose” $4.99

Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Kristen” $17.00

Lip Gloss: Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in “Dolly” $20.00

Lippies

This was the hardest decision to make for me when choosing my 2017 favorites. I have purchased way too many lip products over the past year, but these were the ones that I keep reaching for!

The Essence lip liner is the perfect “your lips but better” shade. It lasts most of the day, and is the lip color that I wear on most days.

Mac Faux is once again a pinky nude that I use on a day to day basis. Since it is a satin finish, it doesn’t have the staying power that the Essence lip liner does, but it is still a beautiful shade that can go with almost any eye look.

These three liquid lipsticks are the ones that I alternate between the most. The Sephora Cream Lip Stain, and the Wet N Wild shade are very wearable and go with most eye looks. Kylie Cosmetics “Kristen” is my go to for special events or holidays. This shade has the perfect undertone for my skin, and it is bold without being over the top.

This lip gloss is all that I wore during the spring and summer months. The Full-On Lip Cream formula is glossy, without being sticky or goopy. Also, this shade is pigmented enough to wear on its own; however, I would occasionally pair it with a lip liner or a lipstick.

Setting Spray: Milani Make It Last Setting Spray $9.99

setting spray

Setting sprays were everywhere in 2017! I actually began using setting sprays during the year, and they have made the biggest difference in my makeup routine. I notice that my face products sink into the skin better when I use a setting spray, and my makeup lasts a lot longer during the day. In 2017 I tried two sprays, but this one was my absolute favorite! It sets my makeup while keeping my oils at bay, and it is only $9.99 at the drugstore!

I hope that you all have enjoyed learning about my 2017 beauty favorites. These truly are products that I use every day, and believe in with my heart, mind, and soul!

Thank you for joining me, and I hope you’ll come back tomorrow for my 2017 Best of Fashion!
