My New Lifestyle and Beauty Favorites

Happy Sunday friends!

Today I’m going to be sharing some recent favorites of mine. This past week I realized that there are some products that I have been using religiously over the past few months. Not only are there beauty favorites, but there are some lifestyle favs thrown in here as well.  Some of these I’ve known about and used for awhile, and some are recent discoveries. I can’t wait to share these with you!

Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon in “Glace” $24.00

IMG_6020

This is the lip pencil that I have been using on any day that I’ve wanted to have something more than lip balm on my lips. This lip pencil is super hydrating, long-lasting, and it comes in a ton of colors! Also, it comes in the Sephora birthday gift for 2018!

Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 $28.00

IMG_6025

From the first use of this product I noticed a difference in the way my hair felt and looked. I noticed that my hair looked healthier, and was more manageable when I used this bond builder. This doesn’t replace hydrating and conditioning hair masks, but it definitely made a difference in the appearance of my hair.

L’oreal Pure-Clay Cleanser in Detox and Brighten $5.31

IMG_6021

This summer I decided to try to add in some more affordable skincare products into my routine. I decided to try this cleanser because the mask version of this is one of my all time holy grails. This cleanser did not disappoint! If you have oily, acne prone skin like I do, I would definitely try to incorporate this cleanser!

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray $20.00

IMG_6023IMG_6024

I’ve been using this spray for the entire summer and it has made the biggest difference in the way my hair responds after washing. As my hair is super fine, it gets knotted and tangled all the time, but especially right after I wash my hair. This product has allowed me to be more gentle with my hair when I’m brushing/combing it!

Crest Noticeably White Whitestrips $15.99

IMG_6027

This is a product that I have used for years! I went through an entire two boxes of these before senior prom, and have used them to prep for special occasions since then. Especially since my discovery of coffee freshman year of college. These are the most basic of the Crest Whitestrips, but they still pack a punch. There is a noticeable difference in your teeth after the first 3-4 treatements in a package of 10!

Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla Candle $24.50

IMG_6016

You guys. This candle is my perfect scent and I hope Bath and Body Works never quits making this. If you love warm scents that remind you of the holidays, this is the scent for you! The notes are: fresh ground cinnamon, sugar crystals, and Tahitian vanilla bean. I also have this scent as a wallflower and it is amazing!

Torani Raspberry Syrup $13.97

IMG_6040

Back in my Baxter’s Coffee days I fell in love with Torani syrups and everything that you can make with them! The raspberry flavor is one of my favorites because it tastes amazing in black and green tea! I also love the Salted Caramel in an iced coffee!

The Republic of Tea British Breakfast $11.25 and Daily Green Tea $10.25

IMG_6030

These are the teas that I love to use with the Torani syrups. They are super flavorful and come with a ton of tea bags! There are also a lot of other flavors. My personal favorite is the Wildberry Plum Green Tea!

Recipes From An Indian Kitchen $14.99

IMG_6036IMG_6037

This cookbook was a birthday present from one of my best friends this year and I’ve already made some of the easier dishes from it! They have all been absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to make more of this food when I have a set schedule, and more time to cook again!

Magnolia Table Cookbook $17.99

IMG_6034IMG_5198

Most of you know that Joanna Gaines can do no wrong in my book, and she definitely stepped up her game with this. I have made so many dishes out of this cookbook and I haven’t even scratched the surface. My favorites are the Coca-Cola Cake and the Chocolate Chip Cookies! If you’re looking for some simple recipes that everyone will love, this is the book for you!

I hope that you all have discovered a new favorite of yours in this post. Be sure to let me know what you’ve been loving this summer in the comments below.

Until next time,

My Summer Makeup Routine

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m going to be sharing how I achieve my summer makeup look, or my “No Makeup” makeup look. This whole process takes about 15 minutes and is perfect for days when you’re running errands, headed to work, or even out with friends for a summer night!

I love that this makeup look is extremely versatile, and can be achieved using very affordable products. Almost all of the products that I use can be found at your local Walmart, Kroger, or drugstore which means that they are perfect for anyone’s budget!

Step 1: Foundation – Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation $5.99

I love this foundation for the summer because it’s a build-able formula. During these warmer months I will use a very thin layer, just enough to even out my skin tone.

Step 2: Concealer – Tarte Shape Tape Concealer $27.00

This concealer is a must-have for any time of the year. I use the shade “Fair”. This product covers up dark circles, highlights the high points of the face, and lasts all day long.

Step 3: Setting Powder – RCMA No Color Powder $12.00

This is my favorite setting powder of all time! I love it because it is so affordable, but it also leaves the skin with a natural matte finish. This finish is perfect for my oily skin, especially when it’s hot outside!

Step #4: Eyeshadow – Jaclyn Hill Palette $38.00

For my summer eye look I use the shades: “Silk Creme” as the first transition shade, “Butter” as another transition shade, “Pooter” as the shade to deepen my outer v, and “Beam” to highlight the brow bone and inner corner.

Step #5: Bronzer – Wet N Wild Color Icon Bronzer $3.99

This is the one product that I actually use more of during the summer months. I use the shade “Ticket to Brazil” and it warms up the skin wonderfully!

Step #5 Highlight – Ofra Cosmetics Rodeo Drive Highlighter $29.00

This is a great highlighter at any time of year, but especially in the summer because of it’s golden reflect on the skin. It’s super smooth and buttery. I will also sometimes use this product as an all over the lid shade on my eyes!

Step #6 Blush – Flower Beauty Flower Pots Powder Blush $9.99

This is a great summer blush because it gives a light wash of color to the cheeks. I love the shade “Sweet Pea” and I apply a very thin layer to the cheeks.

Step #7 Mascara – Benefit Rollerlash $24.00

This is the mascara that I use all year round. It is my holy grail product and I truly don’t believe that I could live without it. I curl my eyelashes before applying this product and then apply 2 to 3 layers depending on how my eyelashes are cooperating that day.

Step #8 Setting Spray – Milani Make It Last Setting Spray $9.99

I love this setting spray so much and I can’t believe that it’s so affordable. This product helps to keep my oiliness at bay, while also extending the life of my makeup. There is a noticeable difference in my makeup when I use this spray. Not only does it make my makeup last longer, but it also helps all of my face products melt into the skin and look more natural.

This is the finished makeup look that I have been doing! I love it and I hope that all of you have found some products that you want to try during these warm months.

In the comments below please tell me how you change your beauty routine for the summer! I would love to get some tips and tricks from all of you!

My New Beauty Favorites

Hey guys!

Recently I’ve been getting back into researching and learning about new beauty products and I’ve got some favorites to share with you! Some of these products are not new to the market, but they are new to me! Also, most of these are decently affordable!

ACS_0119

Product #1: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light $50.00

ACS_0121ACS_0120ACS_0128

This bronzer is expensive, but worth it! It is pigmented, with a finish similar to the Ambient Lighting Powders from Hourglass. They give a radiant, candle-lit finish to the skin. Also, this formula is so light and airy that it is perfect for all skin types and maturities.

Product #2: Smashbox Spotlight Palette in Pearl $35.00

ACS_0123ACS_0122ACS_0127

These highlighters are perfect for an every day routine as they add a nice sheen to the skin, but they aren’t a blinding, metallic finish upon the first application. They can be built up to be blinding and metallic! This palette was also in collaboration with one of my favorite Youtubers, Casey Holmes! They don’t emphasize texture on the skin and they last all day!

Product #3: FLOWER Beauty Flower Pots Blush in Sweet Pea $9.99

ACS_0125ACS_0124ACS_0126

This is a perfect blush as it is pigmented and lasts all day. Also, this particular shade goes with almost any look!

Product #4: FLOWER Beauty Shimmer and Strobe Highlighting Palette $15.99

ACS_0131ACS_0129ACS_0130ACS_0132ACS_0136

These highlighters have become my go to over the past few weeks. I use the champagne shade the most often, and the golden shade next. These highlighters are so smooth and buttery and go on the skin beautifully. They are metallic and blinding upon the first layer of application, and they stay in place all day!

Product #5: Fresh Sugar Lip Caramel Hydrating Balm $18.00

ACS_0133ACS_0135ACS_0134

I know that you’re probably thinking that I’m crazy for recommending an $18 lip balm. But if you know me, you know that I’ve had a lip balm attached to me at all times since the 6th grade! This is the BEST lip balm I have ever used. It is so thick and hydrating for my lips. I typically use this product at night since it is such a thick formula. Another bonus is that this lip balm smells and tastes just like caramel!

Product #6: Stila Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadows $24.00

ACS_0137ACS_0138

These liquid eyeshadows took the beauty community by storm when they were released. However, I just got to try them recently and they do live up to all of their hype. These are literally liquid glitter and apply beautifully to the eye. Another awesome thing about these is that they dry down pretty quickly, but this gives you time to blend out the edges! I have swatched the colors that I have: (Left to Right) Rose Gold Retro, Kitten Karma, and Smoldering Satin.

Product #7: LA Girl Pro Matte Foundation $8.99

ACS_0139

This foundation is a great option for anyone with oily skin. This has a matte finish, has medium to full coverage, and lasts all day! I definitely recommend it!

ACS_0113

I hope that you all have enjoyed this post, and I hope that you will go out and try some of these products for yourself. In my opinion, there is nothing better than getting a new blush or highlighter!

2017 Best of Beauty

Hello everyone!

This weekend is going to be a very busy one for the blog. Even though we have almost made it through the month of January, I have decided to post FOUR days in a row starting today. These posts will contain my 2017 favorites in the categories of beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and design/decor.

I am beyond excited to share these favorites with you, and I think it will be super cool to look back on these posts and see how my personal style and daily routines change throughout the years.

This first post is going to be all things makeup and beauty related. I spend most of my time watching Youtube videos on beauty products, and most of my money goes to makeup as well. Over the past year my collection more than doubled in size, and this post will highlight my favorite products that I discovered in 2017!

flat lay

Foundation: Wet N Wild PhotoFocus Foundation $5.99

foundation

This foundation stole the show for me this year. I have never been one to splurge on a high end foundation, but 2017 was definitely the year that the drugstore stepped up their game when it came to face products. This foundation is a medium to full coverage foundation with a natural finish. The coverage is perfect for my almost every day routine of being on campus.

Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape $27.00

concealer

This concealer has been a part of every beauty blogger’s 2017 favorites that I’ve seen! It is lightweight, full coverage, brightening, and just the perfect concealer. It is an ULTA exclusive, so you can shop the shade range either at Tarte’s website or at ULTA.

Setting Powder: RCMA No Color Powder $12.00

powder

There isn’t much to say about setting powders, but this one from RCMA is great! It is the perfect powder for baking, and since I have oily skin I bake my makeup almost every day. Even though it is a white powder it doesn’t leave a white cast on the skin, and I have heard from influencers on social media that this powder is also great for dry skin!

Eyeshadow: Tarte Tartelette In Bloom $46.00

As you can see, this palette has been very well loved by me over the past year. This was a birthday present and I have used it almost every single day since I got it. Tarte eyeshadows are extremely soft and blendable, while also being very pigmented.

Eyeliner: NYX Epic Ink Liner in Black $7.99

eyeliner

If you have known me since before 8th grade you can probably remember how my eyes looked before I wore a cat eye every single day. I have used many different liquid eyeliners, but this one is by far by favorite. This pen is a brush tip, so the bristles bend very easily with the shape of your eye. Also, it is a very black, very matte line. The liquid takes a couple of seconds to dry, but it does not smudge or bleed at all on my eyes.

Mascara: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara in Black $24.00

mascara

I have been using this mascara for longer than a year, and I’m not sure that I will ever use another mascara. The thin, rubber wand is perfect for separating and lengthening my eyelashes. Also, something really cool about the formula is that this mascara is infused with provitamin B5 and serine, both of which are known for their lash conditioning qualities. I have noticed that my eyelashes are longer, and thicker since I’ve been using this mascara!

Bronzer: Wet N Wild ColorIcon Bronzer in “Ticket to Brazil” $3.99

Bronzer

I switched between two bronzers throughout 2017, but this one came out as my ultimate favorite. There are three shades that this bronzer comes in, and this is the medium shade. Although it is fairly light for a medium shade, this bronzer is the perfect shade for me. My skin tone is on the end of the spectrum closest to Casper the Friendly Ghost, and it is always a struggle for me to find a bronzer shade that has a neutral to cool enough undertone to work on my skin.

Blush: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in “Exposed” $29.00

Essence Satin Touch Blush in “20 Satin Love” $2.99

These are the two blushes that I have been using throughout the entire year of 2017. One is high end, and the other is incredibly affordable. The Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes are some of the best on the market. They are just pigmented enough to not be overwhelming on the face, while also being blendable and long-wearing. The Essence blush was a new find for me during 2017 and it has quickly become my day to day blush. This blush is also pigmented, but not too pigmented, and blends beautifully on the skin. The colors and undertones of these specific shades are perfect for nearly any look, making them a great addition to any collection.

Highlighter: Essence Pure Nude Highlighter $4.49

Ofra Rodeo Drive Highlighter $29.00

I had never used highlighter until 2017, but I have definitely added plenty to my collection over the past year. Once again, one of these favorites is high end, while the other is extremely affordable. The Ofra Rodea Drive highlighter is a blinding gold highlight that I use for more special occasions. The Pure Nude Highlighter is much more subtle, and is the one that I use when I’m going to be on campus, or at home all day. This highlight is more of a champagne nude color. Both of these highlighters also stay on the face all day long.

Lip Liner: Essence Lip Liner in “11 In The Nude” $1.99

Lip Stick: MAC Satin Finish in “Faux” $17.00

Liquid Lipstick: Sephora Cream Lip Stain in “05 Infinite Rose” $14.00

Wet N Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick in “Rebel Rose” $4.99

Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Kristen” $17.00

Lip Gloss: Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in “Dolly” $20.00

Lippies

This was the hardest decision to make for me when choosing my 2017 favorites. I have purchased way too many lip products over the past year, but these were the ones that I keep reaching for!

The Essence lip liner is the perfect “your lips but better” shade. It lasts most of the day, and is the lip color that I wear on most days.

Mac Faux is once again a pinky nude that I use on a day to day basis. Since it is a satin finish, it doesn’t have the staying power that the Essence lip liner does, but it is still a beautiful shade that can go with almost any eye look.

These three liquid lipsticks are the ones that I alternate between the most. The Sephora Cream Lip Stain, and the Wet N Wild shade are very wearable and go with most eye looks. Kylie Cosmetics “Kristen” is my go to for special events or holidays. This shade has the perfect undertone for my skin, and it is bold without being over the top.

This lip gloss is all that I wore during the spring and summer months. The Full-On Lip Cream formula is glossy, without being sticky or goopy. Also, this shade is pigmented enough to wear on its own; however, I would occasionally pair it with a lip liner or a lipstick.

Setting Spray: Milani Make It Last Setting Spray $9.99

setting spray

Setting sprays were everywhere in 2017! I actually began using setting sprays during the year, and they have made the biggest difference in my makeup routine. I notice that my face products sink into the skin better when I use a setting spray, and my makeup lasts a lot longer during the day. In 2017 I tried two sprays, but this one was my absolute favorite! It sets my makeup while keeping my oils at bay, and it is only $9.99 at the drugstore!

I hope that you all have enjoyed learning about my 2017 beauty favorites. These truly are products that I use every day, and believe in with my heart, mind, and soul!

Thank you for joining me, and I hope you’ll come back tomorrow for my 2017 Best of Fashion!
