Cold vs. Cozy

Hey guys!

Today I am going to be posting one of my favorite ways to stay warm on chilly days like today!

Up until this winter I had never been a big fan of hot chocolate. I know, there had to have been something wrong with me! Over winter break I began to look for some homemade recipes so I could try out hot chocolate again.

I made two or three different recipes and made some changes until I landed on this recipe, which I think is pretty perfect. I hope that you enjoy it!

ingredients

Here are all of the ingredients that you will need for this recipe!

-2 1/2 Cups Milk

-1/2 Cup Cocoa

1 Tablespoon Sugar

1/4 of a Bar of Chocolate

1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk

2 Teaspoons Vanilla

First, pour the milk into a medium sized saucepan over medium heat. Let this warm up for a few minutes, but do not bring it to a boil.

Second, I like to put all of my dry ingredients into a small bowl. Add the cocoa, sugar, and finely chopped chocolate to the bowl. Once the milk is warm, add the dry ingredients in slowly. I usually add them in three different waves. This is just to make sure that all of the ingredients are dissolving into the milk.

Next, once the dry ingredients have been fully combined, add the sweetened condensed milk and the vanilla. Make sure to stir until all of the ingredients are combined, and your cocoa is smooth.

Lastly, I let this simmer on medium-low for about 5 minutes before pouring into my mug!

This recipe makes three mugs (8 ounces) full of cocoa.

If you want to be really cozy, you could also make some chocolate chip cookies like we did!

This is the perfect way to spend a chilly/stormy night with two of your best friends. You can’t go wrong with hot chocolate, cookies, and an episode of Fixer Upper.

P.S. Can you guess which of these mugs is mine, and which is Skyler’s?

Let me know if you try this recipe out! I’d love to know what you think!
