It has been a little over a week since the day of family and food comas; and I hope that all of you had a fabulous Thanksgiving! The end of the semester has hit me like a freight train, so I am just now getting to reflect on not only my family Thanksgiving, but the celebration that I got to host with all of my friends! I am lucky enough to have so many things to be thankful for in this life, and getting the chance to take a break from school, work, and all of my stress for a few days was very much appreciated.
A few weeks ago, Skyler and I decided that we wanted to host a Friendsgiving celebration at our apartment for the first time! I had so much fun with all of our friends that have become family over the past two years. They are a group that I am extremely thankful for! Here is a recap of our cooking day/process, our recipes, and a family portrait that will be taken with a Harry Potter twist for Friendsmas! Enjoy!
Our day began around 9 am with the turkey.
We then went on to make all of our sides! This is always my favorite part of holiday dinners, and we did not hesitate to make way too much food. During our dinner I got caught up in the festivities, so I forgot to take some photos, but I will link the recipes we used!
Sweet Potato Casserole
The Lost Sides:
Sweet Creamed Corn from Skyler’s grandma
Cammie’s Hash Brown Casserole
We ended our day of cooking with desserts and the ham. I think that my favorite part of this dinner was the ham that we made. I can’t wait to share the recipe with you!
P.S. This tart is the best thing that I’ve ever eaten. It’s clear to all of us why this is Harry Potter’s favorite dessert.
Once again, I am so thankful to have these people in my life. If you would have told me three years ago that I would be lucky enough to call these people my friends, I probably would have called you crazy.
We’re in the process of planning our Friendsmas dinner now! Get ready for a Harry Potter Christmas!
Happy Holidays! Also, I’m thankful for you. You’re wonderful!
